AWS Outage Affecting Control4
Announcement from SnapOne regarding their services including Control4 products:
–BEGIN
Due to a widespread issue with Amazon AWS services, the Control4 cloud and OvrC platform are currently unavailable. Services experiencing disruption include, but are not limited to, OvrC, Control4 Composer Pro remote access, Composer Express, my.control4.com and voice assistant integration.
This issue is impacting a wide range of services outside of our industry and does not currently have a timeline for resolution.
We will provide updates as we know more, but you can check service statuses at status.snapone.com.
To assist with any questions or concerns your customers may have on this disruption please refer to the following.
To assist with any questions or concerns your customers may have on this disruption please refer to the following.
What’s Working:
- – Customers in their home should be able to use most of the functionality of their Control4 systems, such as lights, media controls, comfort, music, and security should work from a local setting.
Intermittent Functionality:
- – Services that require a connection to the cloud may not work correctly – this includes services such as streaming services (both music and video) and mobile applications (both iOS & Android).
Not Functioning:
- – Any interface or functionality that requires a remote connection is broken; this includes various cloud APIs, voice, remote connections, intercom anywhere, cloud backups, When>>Then, and notifications.
- – Websites used for account and customer management are also down, including my.control4.com and customer.control4.com.
- – Finally, anything requiring authentication through the Snap One Cloud Services, including the Control4 mobile app, OvrC Home app, and Luma surveillance app will likely fail.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Update 7:30pm — “OvrC is back online! Many of Control4 services have recovered, but some instability may exist as we ramp back up systems. We continue to be in constant contact with Amazon teams and doing everything possible to help our Partners and End-Customers. Thank you for your patience.”
